MCA sources deny rumors of heightened security at IPL 2024 stadium for MI-RR game

In a turbulent start to IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians, led by Hardik Pandya, are winless after back-to-back losses. Hardik has faced relentless boos and jeers from crowds, adding to the pressure as MI plays their first home game against Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium.

Despite reports of Mumbai Cricket Association planning to eject fans for booing Pandya, sources clarify that no such measures are in place for the upcoming game. Guidelines set by BCCI on spectator behavior are being followed for all games, including the IPL.

The fan backlash against Hardik stems from his switch from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians, where he replaced Rohit Sharma as captain. MCA denies rumors of security measures against fans targeting Hardik, stating they are following BCCI guidelines on crowd behavior.

In IPL 2024, MI suffered a six-run loss to GT and a 32-run loss to SRH, who posted the highest IPL total ever. With MI at the bottom of the points table, Pandya and his team face a tough challenge in their home game against RR to turn their campaign around.

MI-RR clash at the Wankhede promises to be an intense battle, with Hardik Pandya under the spotlight for various reasons. As pressure mounts on the five-time champions to secure their first win of the season, all eyes will be on Hardik to lead his team to victory on April 1.
