Expert Tips: Common Make-up Mistakes and Solutions for the Perfect Look

New Delhi, April 1 (IANS) Make-up can sometimes be confusing, especially for beginners. Expert Saikat Chakraborty shares do’s and don’ts to make wearing make-up easy in everyday life. From the right skincare quantity to the proper use of primer, Chakraborty provides valuable tips for flawless make-up application.

Chakraborty emphasizes the importance of using the right quantity of skincare products. “Whether you have dry or oily skin, using the right amount of serum/moisturizer is crucial for your make-up to sit well on your skin. Too much skincare can cause base products like foundation and concealer to slip,” he explains.

Another important tip is to always use a primer before applying make-up. Chakraborty states, “A primer creates a smooth barrier between your skin and make-up, ensuring a flawless application of base products. It also minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines, giving you a perfect canvas to work on.”

Blush application is a common area where beginners make mistakes. Chakraborty advises on the strategic placement of blush to enhance the overall make-up look. He recommends selecting a blush shade that complements your skin tone and applying it lightly on the cheeks for a natural lift.

For a balanced make-up look, Chakraborty suggests toning down either the eyes or lips. If opting for bold eye make-up, go for a muted lip color, and vice versa. This approach ensures that one feature stands out without overpowering the overall look.

When it comes to applying concealer, Chakraborty advises against blending it too much. He recommends depositing the concealer in the areas of concern for full coverage and setting it with a powder immediately after for a flawless finish.

Choosing the right foundation shade is crucial for a seamless make-up application. Chakraborty suggests selecting a warmer tone for overall coverage and using a lighter shade of loose or compact powder to highlight specific areas without creating a white cast.

To achieve voluminous lashes, Chakraborty recommends applying mascara in layers. He cautions against topping up mascara while it is still wet, as it can lead to clumping. Wait for the mascara to dry between coats for a fanned out lash look.

Lastly, Chakraborty highlights the importance of cleaning make-up brushes regularly. He notes that dirty brushes can lead to breakouts and skin infections, affecting the overall appearance of make-up. Regularly cleaning brushes ensures their longevity and maintains hygiene in your make-up routine.
