LSG defeats RCB by 28 runs thanks to Mayank Yadav’s sensational 3-14 and superb batting from de Kock and Pooran in IPL-2024

Lucknow Super Giants defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 28 runs in Match 15 of the IPL, thanks to a stellar performance by Mayank Yadav. He bowled a sensational spell of 3-14, including the fastest delivery of the season at 156.7kmph. Quinton de Kock’s 81 and Nicholas Pooran’s 40 not out set the platform for LSG’s victory.

Quinton de Kock’s explosive innings helped LSG post 181/5 in 20 overs, despite RCB pulling things back. The target of 182 seemed achievable for RCB, but Mayank Yadav’s pace bowling rattled their batting line-up. With key wickets of Maxwell, Green, and Patidar, Yadav finished with 3-14 to lead LSG to victory.

Mayank Yadav, who clocked 156.7 kmph, impressed with his sheer pace and skill. His heroics, combined with Nicholas Pooran’s late blitz, secured LSG’s win. Lucknow Super Giants now have 4 points, moving to fourth place in the standings, alongside KKR, CSK, and GT, with RR leading with 6 points.

While Mayank Yadav shone with the ball, LSG also fielded superbly. De Kock’s explosive start, partnered with Stoinis, laid the foundation, and Pooran’s fireworks in the end propelled LSG to a defendable total. Glenn Maxwell was RCB’s standout bowler with 2-23 off four overs in the match.

Despite a strong start by RCB’s batters, LSG’s bowlers, led by Mayank Yadav, managed to limit them to 153 all out. Yadav’s exceptional pace and accuracy proved to be the game-changer as LSG secured their second win in three matches in the IPL.
