Former UAE cricketer Usman Khan under consideration for Pakistan squad selection despite ban

The PCB chairman confirmed that former UAE batter Usman Khan is in contention for selection in the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand, despite a five-year ban by ECB. Usman was part of a recent fitness camp and his impressive PSL performance may secure his spot.
The Emirates Cricket Board banned Usman Khan for five years for breaching contractual obligations, stating that he misrepresented his decision to play for UAE and sought out other prospects. However, PCB chairman Naqvi confirmed Usman’s eligibility for the national side.
Usman Khan’s potential selection in the Pakistan squad for the upcoming series is primarily based on his outstanding performance in PSL 9 with Multan Sultans. The final squad announcement for the New Zealand series will be made on April 9, with the series scheduled to begin on April 18.
