SRH reaches 182/9 against PBKS in IPL 2024 with Nitish Reddy’s fifty overshadowed by Arshdeep’s 4-29

Mullanpur, April 9 (IANS) – Nitish Kumar Reddy’s explosive innings led Sunrisers Hyderabad to 182/9 against Punjab Kings in Match 23 of the IPL 2024. Despite a brilliant effort, Arshdeep Singh’s four-wicket haul limited SRH’s total in this clash between two mid-table teams at the PCA Stadium.

The 20-year-old Reddy showcased his talent with a 37-ball 64, forming a crucial 50-run partnership with Abdul Samad for the sixth wicket. His maiden IPL half-century rescued SRH from a shaky position of 100/5 after being put to bat by PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan.

Arshdeep emerged as the key bowler for Punjab Kings, rattling SRH’s top order by claiming four wickets for 29 runs. His impactful spells at the start and death overs put pressure on SRH, showcasing Punjab’s tactical usage of the playing conditions at the newly inaugurated stadium in Mullanpur.

Sunrisers’ hopes of posting a big score depended on openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, who had solid starts in previous matches. However, both batsmen failed to convert their starts into significant scores as PBKS bowlers, led by Arshdeep, maintained control and built pressure on the SRH batting lineup.
