Mbappe shines as PSG ease into Champions League semifinal

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured their spot in the UEFA Champions League semifinals with a stunning 4-1 victory over FC Barcelona. Kylian Mbappe was the hero of the night, scoring twice to seal a 6-4 aggregate win for the French side at Estadi Olompic Lluis Companys.

The match started with Barcelona taking the lead after Raphinha’s goal in the 12th minute, putting them ahead 1-0 and 4-2 on aggregate. However, PSG fought back, with Ronald Araujo leveling the game before being sent off with a red card, leaving Barcelona with ten men.

Despite being a man down, PSG capitalized on their advantage, with Ousmane Dembele scoring to make it 1-1 and 4-3 on aggregate just before halftime. In the second half, Vitinha scored to level the aggregate at 4-4, giving PSG a 2-1 lead in the match.

Mbappe then took matters into his own hands, converting a penalty in the 64th minute to put PSG ahead 3-1 in the contest and 5-4 on aggregate. The French star’s late clincher secured PSG’s place in the semifinals, capping off a thrilling comeback victory over Barcelona.

The win marks a historic moment for PSG, who have now advanced to the last four of the Champions League. The team’s resilience and Mbappe’s heroics were key to their success in overcoming Barcelona and booking their spot in the semifinals.
