You are excited like a 28-year-old man at the age of 88 and entering politics. What is the secret of your energy?

E Sreedharan said – At this age, I am completely fit. In such a situation, I want to serve the development of Kerala, I want to work, so what is wrong with it? My long experience and knowledge will help in advancing the state. As far as I am concerned about remaining energetic, my main reason for living life systematically, and my faith in the religious values ​​of the great Bhagavad Gita.

You are popular as a metro man, you are a technocrat and you are also interested in politics, then why did you take so long to get into politics?

Various governments, high courts, government agencies gave me a lot of responsibilities by believing in me, I was engaged in fulfilling them. Now my final responsibility or say that the assignment will be completed on 5 March with the completion of the reconstruction of Palarivattom Flyover (Kerala). For this reason, I thought that my talent and experience should be useful in the state of Kerala. That is why I am starting a new innings in the field of politics.

With your technical expertise you set up the metro and contributed greatly to the development of the country, now what do you want to do for the citizens or the state of Kerala through politics?

E Sreedharan said – My objective is completely the same that I should develop the state of Kerala at the level of knowledge and technology so that maximum number of employment opportunities can be available to the people here. There are a large number of educated unemployed youth who are looking for work. Along with this, the state has to save itself from the vicious cycle of debt.

You are an expert on the metro rail. What do you think about Indian Railways, in what situation is such a large network?

The condition of the Indian Railways has deteriorated considerably during the last 5 years. I am very disappointed and sad about this. The railway is suffering irreparable damage in the name of restructuring. The great thing is that there is not even a full-time cabinet minister for Railways. All this is a sign of bad condition.

What are the reasons behind choosing Bharatiya Janata Party?

In Kerala, both the Congress-led UDF and the CPM-led LDF were accused of corruption and scams. I am, by nature, consistent with the policies and programs of the Bharatiya Janata Party, so I decided to join the BJP.

Why BJP is not popular in Kerala, what do you think about it?

The Bharatiya Janata Party does not have a nationally reputed leader in Kerala. There are also differences between state BJP leaders. But, now they are being resolved. I sincerely hope that the people of Kerala will understand and support the BJP.

Opposition parties accuse BJP of being communal, what do you think?

I do not believe that the Bharatiya Janata Party is communal. The BJP has been ruling the country very successfully for the last seven years and there was not a single communal clash. This is a proof that the BJP takes everyone along.

What is your plan for the establishment of BJP in Kerala?

I have a reputation among the people of Kerala and the people here trust me. My joining the Bharatiya Janata Party will change the situation and I am sure that the people of Kerala will get huge support for BJP.

Assembly elections to be held in Kerala are not far away. What are the chances of BJP?

The BJP did well in Kerala in the last local body elections. There was not much difference between BJP and other parties. Now the party is in front of the public with a new image and new style. I am confident that the Bharatiya Janata Party will do very well in the assembly elections.

What do you think and expect about the socio-political situation of Kerala?

Today the socio-political situation of Kerala is not helpful in progress. The ruling political parties have always had a confrontation with the central government. If the Bharatiya Janata Party comes to power in Kerala, there will be good coordination with the central government and it will prove to be very beneficial for the state.
