Antibody levels of Pfizer, AstraZeneca vaccines may drop in 2-3 months: Study

How long will the antibodies last after taking the covid vaccine? This question has been asked time and again. Now according to a study published in The Lancet journal, the level of total antibodies starts decreasing six weeks after complete vaccination with Pfizer Vaccine and AstraZeneca Vaccine.

The study revealed that after 10 weeks, the level of antibodies can be reduced by more than 50 percent.

Researchers from University College London (UCL) in the UK said that if the level of antibodies drops at this rate, then the protective effect of the vaccine may also decrease, especially against new variants of the corona.

Antibodies being made from vaccine more than infection

The UCL Virus Watch study found that antibody levels after two doses of the Pfizer vaccine were higher than those of AstraZeneca. AstraZeneca is available in India under the name Covishield.

The study says that the level of antibodies in fully vaccinated people has been found to be higher than the antibodies found in Kovid infection.

“The antibody levels were found to be very high after both doses of the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines. Perhaps this is the reason why both protect against severe covid infection.”

However, Madhumita said that we found that this level decreases after two to three months. According to the researchers, the results are based on a study conducted on 600 people aged 18 years and above.
