Arvind Kejriwal inaugurates Ashram flyover extension in Noida

Good news for Noida people, the most awaited Ashram flyover has now opened for commuters. Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated the flyover yesterday. He stated- “Woes of people have ended, those coming from Noida can reach AIIMS sooner after the Ashram flyover extension opening.”Later he criticised the authority for the slow work on city infrastructure, adding around 27 flyovers have been built under his party- Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi and only 84 flyovers has been made in the city in the last 65 years.

Commuters who had to take the long route to cross the road from Kilokari i.e 150 m away from Kilokari to Ring Road. Now public will be able to cross the road just by taking a U-turn to arrive at Maharani Bagh or say South Delhi with the help of the Ashram flyover. 

Specifically, light vehicles from Chirag Delhi, Gurugram, Khanpur, Kalkaji, AIIMS, Greater Kailash, INA, Saket, Dhaula Kuan and Sadarjung to going to DND, Sarai Kale Khan, Ghaziabad, Noida can take the latest flyover instead of opting for Barapulla Flyover. Heavy vehicles like buses, trucks etc are advised not to take carriageways to the Ashram Flyover till further instruction. Plus, the commuters coming from Sarai Kale Khan are advised not to use the Ashram flyover. 

Those coming from South Delhi to Noida, Sarai Kale Khan, ITO  as well as Ghaziabad don’t have to take longer routes. A pedestrian will also be constructed on the side of the road. The work on the flyover extension was initially started in 2020 after getting approval from the Cabinet. The total cost incurred in the flyover project was ₹128.25 crore while the total length of the flyover is 1,425 metres.
