Bank Statement Attestation in UAE

A bank statement is a record issued by a bank which shows the net balance and the transactions that are made in an account within a specific duration. This statement give details about the cash in flow, cash out flow, amount of interest added within the duration, and the dates on which the transactions were made. However, a Bank Statement Certificate is a certificate issued by a bank that confirms that the person has an account with that bank. Moreover, the certificate may also include the present net balance. A request can be made to the bank for addition of further information.

In the United Arab Emirates, bank statements are most commonly required to be certified as true copies by the lawyers. A certified true copy of a bank statement is a copy of that statement that a lawyer or notary public Dubai UAE certifies that it is the exact depiction of the original bank statement. Lawyer or a notary public then signs the Bank Statement Certificate after comparing the copy of bank statement to the original statement. After this the bank statement copy becomes a certified true copy.

True copy attestation is required for the one’s who do not want to leave their Bank Statement Certificate to the entities who request for it. • The first step, involves issuing of bank statement from the specific branch of the bank where the person opened his account or any branch of the bank depending on the rules of the bank.
• Then the client is required to create the copies of the original bank statement that is to be presented.
• After that the client must confirm from MOFAIC website, ‘UAE MOFAIC’ smart phone application, MOFAIC customer happiness center or Attestation service agencies regarding the procedure of true copy attestation of bank statements.
• Depending on the choice of the client, the original bank statements and their copies should be submitted to the concerned authority. This has to be done before the stamping of the bank statements as true copies by the lawyer or a notary public.
• When a lawyer or a notary public is satisfied with the validity of the Bank Statement Certificate, they undergo the stamping of the copies of  bank statements which confirms  that the copy of the bank statement is a valid and accurate copy of the Bank Statement Certificate. The Bank Statement Attestation also requires the lawyer or the notary public to sign and write date  on the bank statement in order to validate the date of certificate attestation. The stamp used by the lawyer or the notary public has the name of the lawyer or notary public, the name of the authority and the contact and email ID of the lawyer or the notary public so that the entity who requested for the bank statement can contact in order to confirm the certificate attestation. 
• The Bank Statement Certificate is then kept by the owner of the bank statement and a certified true copy or attested bank statement is submitted to the entity who requested for it. After the Bank Statement Attestation the copy of Bank Statement Certificate is considered as accurate as the original bank statement by the entity who requested for it.

The MOFAIC clears the attestation requirements in detail providing that if the client opts for MOFAIC website for its Bank Statement Attestation then for individuals it is required that they use the UAE PASS whereas the companies are required to create a user account on MOFAIC Website. Moreover, the bank statements that are issued within the United Arab Emirates and require attestation by UAE’s Embassy or Consulate Abroad must select UAE Embassy or Consulate Abroad for attestation. Similarly, the bank statements that are issued in the banks outside the UAE and require attestation by the UAE mission at the country of origin are required to select UAE Embassy or Consulate Abroad for their Bank Statement Attestation. In addition to this, the Bank Statement Certificate that is issued in the banks outside the UAE and requires attestation in the UAE should select Happiness Centers in the UAE.Moreover, various agencies and typing centers can also be used for Bank Statement Attestation in UAE. This can be very convenient for the people if they do not want to do the attestation themselves. But, this option would be more expensive as compared to the others, and may also vary from one agency and typing centers to the other.
