Why Do We Celebrate Barawafat?

Barawafat or else known as ‘Eid e Milad’ or ‘Miladunnabi’ is one of the major festivals of Islam. This day is celebrated with great pomp by various communities of Muslims all over the world, because Hazrat Mohammed Saheb, who gave the message of truth and religion to humanity, was born on this day and died on this date. . It is believed that before his death Mohammad Saheb had been ill for twelve days.

‘Bara’ means ‘twelve’ and ‘wafat’ means ‘इंतकाल’ and because after being sick for twelve days, this day was destroyed, so this day is celebrated as Barawafat. This is the reason why Barawafat is celebrated with so much enthusiasm in Islam.
