Chicago Mass Shooting Update: 7 Injured, 2 Dead, Suspect Not Caught

The Chicago mass shooting is yet another brutal incident invading the media headlines. It took place on Saturday, at around 9:20 p.m., reported Business Today.

The Chicago mass shooting resulted in injuring seven people and killing one child and a man. Moreover, the man was 29 years old who was pronounced dead at the spot after being shot fatally. 

Information regarding the circumstances that led to the Chicago mass shooting remains unclear now. 

According to ABC 7 Chicago, a local media outlet, police are investigating the matter actively. The location at which this incident took place is near South Damen Avenue and West 52nd Street. 

About Victims and the Suspects in the Chicago Mass Shooting

The victims were at a family gathering when the Chicago mass shooting happened. 

When the shooting occurred, officers responded quickly to a “ShotSpotter alert of 18 rounds fired.”

When the police reached the scene, they found multiple people getting shot. 

Don Jerome, the Chicago Police Area One Deputy Chief, said that life-saving care including chest seals and tourniquets were provided. 

The police chief added that a 9-year-old girl lost her life after being shot in her head. According to CBS News, she was identified as Ariana Molina by her family. On Saturday night, an 8-year-old boy along with a one-year-old boy were in critical condition. 

According to a source, when the and rye shootings occurred, children were playing outside, and the adults were on the porch or inside at the time. 

The ages of all the victims of the Chicago mass shooting range from 19 to 40. 

Jerome said, “This was not a random act of violence. It was likely gang-related.” He added, “The offenders’ actions, make no mistake, are horrific and unacceptable in our city.”

Police also added that, “some witnesses described two shooters on foot.”

Notably, no suspects have been arrested by the police yet.
