Elmer Day, like Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, star of David McKee’s Elmer books, is a celebration of reading, elephants, and accepting yourself and others.
It is usually commemorated with events at libraries and bookstores across the United Kingdom. Kids are encouraged to wear bright colours, participate in creative activities, and, of course, enjoy the Elmer books.
Elmer Day should be celebrated in the workplace, at house, or internet in 2022, with a free Elmer Day Entertainment Pack available on the Elmer Day homepage. In April, this will be available.

Why Elmer?
Elmer’s first book was written in 1968. An event in which his made by mixing daughter was verbally mistreated prompted author David McKee. His stories serve as an inspiration to all of us to accept those that are different from us as well as our notable features.
Mr Benn and King Rollo were two of McKee’s most popular characters. He’s written more than 30 books featuring Elmer and his pals.
