Tikari Border, Pandit Shriram Sharma, Bahadurgarh City, and Brig Hoshiar Singh Metro Station have been closed.

Delhi-Meerut Express Way Block

Farmers have blocked National Highway 9 and 24 Delhi-Meerut Express Way in the morning on the Ghazipur border, due to which the passers have to return. Roads are already closed on the borders of farmers, which are going on strike in Delhi. During this time alternative routes were opened. These alternative routes will also be closed from 6 am to 6 pm during Bharat Bandh. Along the same lines, the farmers have sat on the highway coming out of the border.

The effect was seen in Punjab as well

The 12-hour-long statewide agitation by farmers on Friday, rising above the party and trade unions, has received a good response in Punjab and Haryana, where normal life was affected.

At the same time, the situation in Chandigarh was almost normal. Traffic has been severely affected by farmers, farm laborers, commission agents, trade unions and activists of political parties gathering on railway tracks and traveling on national highways. During this time, no untoward incident has been reported from anywhere in both the states, apart from this, emergency medical services were not allowed to be affected due to protests and discourse.

During the protest, activists of several farmers’ unions asked shopkeepers and traders to stop their work at many places in Congress-ruled Punjab.

Sukhdev Singh Kokari Kalan, general secretary of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta-Udharan), said that farmers will stop the rail and road movement altogether. Also, taxis and other vehicles will also not be allowed. The truck union has also given its support to the farmers.
