Significance

The celebration of Gayatri Jayanti is done to commemorate the birth anniversary of Gayatri Mata, who is the Mata of Veda and Vedic Hyms. Therefore, she is also venerated as Veda Mata. Her devotees also worship Gayatri Mata as the Goddess of Hindu Trimurti. Gayatri Mata is the embodiment of Mata Saraswati, Goddess Lakshmi, and, Goddess Parvati along with being the mother of all Gods. As per the Drik Panchang, Gayatri Jayanti is celebrated annually following the celebration of Ganga Dussehra.

Puja Vidhi

On this day the devotees and the followers wake up early in the morning. The first thing that they do is clean their house and the surrounding. Then they were clean clothes after taking a shower. The best way to worship Mata Gayatri is by sitting in front of a statue, ad thinking of Mata Gayatri. You need to believe that the Goddess appeared in the statue or the picture you are keeping in front of yourself while imagining and worshipping her. Now pray for her with a sincere heart. You should also perform some ritualistic offerings like naivedya, incense, flowers, akshat, and water. Pray to mata, and recite Gayatri Mantra at least three times. You can also chant the Gayatri Mantra 108 times or in multiples of 108.
