Golden Globes: RRR Wins Best Original Song, Loses in Best Non-English Language Film

RRR arrived, observed, and triumphed at the Golden Globes. Among the 2 categories in which SS Rajamouli’s hit movie was shortlisted. “Naatu Naatu” wins for Best Original Song. Although, The didn’t win the 1985 award for Best Foreign Language Film, which went to Argentina. “The decision to Leave” (South Korea), “Close” (Belgium), “All Quiet on the Western Front” (Germany), and some others songs were also nominated in this category.

RRR Creating Big for Indian Cinema

The cast of RRR, including director SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan, (who is joined at the Golden Globes by his wife Upasana Kamineni), and Jr. NTR, will be in attendance. In the historical drama, which was established in the 1920s in British-occupied India, Ram Charan and Jr. NTR portray freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem.

Along with Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt, the cast also features Olivia Morris, Alison Doody, and Ray Stevenson from the United Kingdom. If not many, it’s a proud moment to see India winning and establishing its legacy in the international forum atleast in one category.

At the New York Film Critics Circle Awards, Rajamouli won Best Director for his work on RRR, which earned over Rs 1,200 crore worldwide. RRR already has won several other awards and accolades. RRR has also presented itself for nomination in several Oscars categories and anticipates receiving nominations.

Jerrod Carmichael, a comedian, is hosting the Golden Globes in Los Angeles. Following internal changes in response to allegations of its purportedly racial and sexist voting processes, the awards have returned to the forefront of Hollywood. NBC, which is broadcasting the Golden Globes, as well as several of Hollywood’s biggest actors, led by Tom Cruise, who retrieved his three Globes, boycotted the event last year.
