Meenal Jain: Biography

Meenal Jain’s older sister, an Indian classical performer, was practicing the tune ‘Piya Tohse Naine Laga Re’ when she was 11 years old. Young Meenal was so taken with the song that she refused to stop humming it, and musician Ravindra Jain, who had gone to her friend’s show as a special guest, even welcomed her on stage. Ravindra Jain’s words of encouragement were motivating.

Meenal begged her parents to accept her to enroll in Suresh Wadkar’s training center in Bombay, where she was trained in music in the guru-shishiya style when she was 11 years old. Meenal, on the other hand, couldn’t handle it any longer after three months of intensive study here. She had to quit the institute and return to Indore since she felt homesick.

She later returned to Mumbai but did not return to the institute. Instead, she began learning to sing on her own from other people while also finishing her education. Her parents agreed with her decision, therefore her mother went to visit her and remain with her.

She presently resides in Bombay and earned her bachelor’s degree from Mumbai’s Mithibai College. She also performed with Amit Sana, Abhijeet Sawant, Rex D’Souza, and Sonu Nigam in several shows. She was also a co-host of the show “Music, Masti”, and Dhoom.”
