The festival of Dussehra is celebrated every year on the 10th day of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. Dashami is also known as Vijayadashami as there was a fierce battle between Lord Shri Ram and King Ravana of Lanka and Lord Shri Ram got the victory on the 10th day. With the help of Hanuman, Sugriva, Jamwant, and Vanar Sena, Mata Sita was found and then Lord Rama marched on Lanka, as a result of which the entire demon caste came to an end.
