The day of Nag Panchami is usually Celebrated according to the Hindu calendar on the fifth day of shravana Mahina lunar month half, which usually occurs in July or August. Indian states such as Gujrat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Odisha commemorate Nag Panchami in Shravan Mahina but on the Krishna Paksha.

On this day, a serpent or Naga deity is created out of cow dung, wood, stone, silver, or even paintings and is worshipped by bathing them with milk. Following the rituals, the blessings of the Nag devata are sought for the betterment and happy living of the family. On this day, the snakes such as Cobra are also offered milk in the temples and are believed to be a very auspicious thing.
