History

Back in 1949, on 28th August a committee was formed under the Defense Minister of India. The committee concluded to observe 7th December as Flag Day. Although besides collecting donations, the day is also celebrated by distributing stickers, and flags. Among the public. People around the nation, sell small flags as well as car flags in deep blue, red, and light blue that denote three services in return for funds. This collected money is later used for the welfare of army personnel and ex-servicemen along with the battle casualties.
