Indore Black fungus Cases: In the Government Maharaja Yashwantrao Chikitsalaya (MYH) of Indore, 49 patients of black fungus infection (Mucer mycosis) died during the last 40 days with a mortality rate of about 8 percent. A top official of MYH gave this information on Tuesday. MYH is the busiest black fungus treatment hospital in the state, where patients from districts other than Indore are also admitted. This hospital is affiliated with the Government Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College.
Dr. Sanjay Dixit, Dean of the college said that so far a total of 614 patients of black fungus have been admitted in MYH. Of these, 283 people were discharged after treatment, while 49 patients have died. Analysis of the data shows that MYH has a mortality rate of about 8 percent in black fungus patients. The dean claimed that the mortality rate of black fungus patients in different parts of the country is usually between 40 and 50 percent.

Indore Black fungus Cases: He said that most of the black fungus patients who died in MYH belonged to different districts of Madhya Pradesh and reached the hospital late. Dean said that we have done 580 surgeries in the last 40 days to save the lives of black fungus patients. He told that at present 282 patients of black fungus are admitted in MYH. Of these, 4 people are infected with Kovid-19, while 241 people developed the problem of black fungus after recovering from this epidemic.
