John White, Mississippi Speaker’s Son Arrested for Underage Drinking While on Spring Break

During spring break, a total of 253 citations were issued in Florida for underage drinking. One of them was issued to John White. John is the son of Jason White, the Mississippi Speaker of the House.

John is a quarterback at the University of Southern Mississippi. On Monday, his spring break was interrupted after being arrested for underage drinking, reported WLBT3.

Around 6:15 p.m., John was apprehended at the Villages of Crystal Beach, in Destin, Florida, when he was caught by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office while drinking for the second time on March 11, Monday afternoon.

According to a social media post, on March 11 afternoon around 5:45, John White received his first notice for underage possession.

Sheriff’s office Facebook page stated in a post,

“This Spring Breaker got a notice to appear for underage possession of alcohol at 5:45 on the beach yesterday but didn’t learn a lesson. He was caught again 30 minutes later in the pool area of the Villages of Crystal Beach so that means taking a ride to jail!”

However, after being booked John White was released based on his recognizance on March 12, 2024, Tuesday. According to the Okaloosa Department of Corrections website, he has been charged with “one count of liquor possession by a person under 21 years old.”

Who is John White?

According to AL.com John White is a freshman at the University of Southern Mississippi, USM. He is also a member of a football team named the Golden Eagles.

As per a biography mentioned on the University of Southern Mississippi’s website, John White is a West Mississippi native. Moreover, he attended Madison Ridgeland Academy, Mississippi recording 177 total touchdowns and 15,259 career passing yards.

John White’s father, Jason White was not available for comment immediately.
