Joliet Shooting at Crest Hill: Suspects Arrested, No Casualties Reported

The Joliet Shooting has caused a huge mess throughout the social media, which resulted in a brief lockdown. This incident occurred on Theodore Street, Crest Hill reported NBC Chicago.

The suspects of the Joliet shooting incident that took place on Tuesday, involving a gunfire exchange were arrested in the city of Crest Hill.

Earlier that day, when a manhunt was launched by the police in Joliet and suburban Crest Hill near the Merichka’s Restaurant, numerous tense scenes unfolded.

At a nearby school, a lockdown was imposed when the investigation process began. The names and identities of the suspects involved in the Joliet shooting incident remain unknown until now.

Joliet Police and the Crest Hill Police launched a joint investigation to carry out searches near the border.

The investigation led by the officials revealed that the Joliet shooting occurred around 1:10 pm, as per local time.

According to TimesNow, the lockdown which was imposed and later revoked on the Chaney Monge School was swift and soft. This was the consequence of the gunfire incident that occurred in the 600 Block of Theodore Street.

In a Facebook post, the city of Crest Hill stated, “Chaney Monge School lockdown has been lifted and normal release procedures and bus schedules are in effect”.

Chaney Monge School issued an update, following the soft lockdown, which states the regular dismissal time will be at 3 p.m. (as per local time).

Suspects Caught

As per the officials, the suspects left the scene on foot. However, later the suspects were caught a few blocks away where they were hiding in a residential area.

Police added that, when they arrived at the scene, they didn’t discover any victims of the Joliet shooting incident.

According to the authorities, officers are still in search for the weapon involved in the scene. They added that, until now, it’s not clear what is the total number of suspects involved in the incident at large.
