Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi responded to the widespread outcry over the divisive poster for the movie “Kaali” by stating that all religions must be honored and that the way Goddess Kali is depicted in the billboard is appropriate. Strong concerns were raised by Madhya Pradesh as well as BJP leader Narottam Mishra, who claimed that the state government could forbid Manimekalai’s movie.

Speaking forcefully, the MP for home affairs claimed that depicting Kali Mata having a cigarette is inappropriate and argued in favor of prohibiting the movie and suing the director.
