Maruti Suzuki announces changes in senior management structure

Maruti Suzuki India has announced the appointment of Partho Banerjee as the new head of marketing and sales, replacing Shashank Srivastava. This change will take effect from April 1, 2024, as part of a restructuring of the senior management committee.

Banerjee will take over the role from Srivastava, who is being transferred to the Member Executive Committee, according to a regulatory filing by the automaker. Similarly, Tarun Aggarwal will become the new Head of Engineering, replacing CV Raman, who is also moving to the Member Executive Committee.

Aggarwal, currently the Executive Officer and Head of Powertrain vertical at Maruti Suzuki, will assume his new position on April 1. In addition to these changes, Sandeep Raina has been appointed as the Head of Product Planning, and Ram Suresh Akella will take on the role of Head of Service.

Furthermore, Rajesh Uppal, the current Head of HR & IT, will be transferred to the Member Executive Committee. Manoj Gautam will become the Head of Information Technology (IT) and Salil B Lal will be the new Head of Human Resources (HR) effective from April 1, 2024. Sunil Kakkar will transition from Head of Supply Chain to Head of Corporate Planning, and Deepak Thukral and Rahul Bharti will assume new roles as Head of Supply Chain and Head of Corporate Affairs, respectively.

The management restructuring was approved during a meeting of the Maruti Suzuki India board on Wednesday, as the company continues to make strategic changes to its leadership team. This move is aimed at strengthening the company’s marketing, engineering, product planning, and service functions to enhance its position in the competitive automotive market.
