Naperville Shooting: Deadly Gunfire Resulted in Lockdown Imposition, 1 Casualty Reported 

The Naperville shooting is currently all over the internet as a temporary lockdown was imposed in the Leverenz and Leach area, reported ABC Chicago.

In the 2500 block of Leach Drive, an investigation was launched by the Naperville Police Department and its officials. They sealed the entire place around the house. 

On Tuesday afternoon, a shooting took place in Naperville, Illinois where a person was shot near Clow Elementary School. As per NBC Chicago, the victim is a 22-year-old male from Naperville.

Around 1:30 pm, reports of police came up, to which police responded by rushing to the area. 

When the deadly shooting incident took place, numerous of the nearby schools were ordered to a shelter-in-place in Naperville. Police asked six distinct schools to go into lockdown temporarily. 

As per ABC7, Welch Elementary School, Spring Brook Elementary School, Clow Elementary School, Gregory Middle School, Brikett First-year Student Center, and Neuqua Valley High School, are among the educational institutions that got orders from the police. 

Naperville Shooting Details About Suspect 

The Naperville Police Department released a statement avoiding the incident which read, “The offenders reportedly fled on foot in an unknown direction of travel. Several schools in the area were placed on lockdown and a shelter in place. Naper Notify Alert was sent to surrounding residents.”

As per authorities’ sheltering-in-place guidelines, nearby people and residents were asked to stick to them. Residents were advised not to flock to the streets. 

Based on the reports by the local media, the police believe that this shooting incident does not look like a random act. 

The person who got gun wounds in the Naperville shooting was shifted to a local hospital. After battling with non-life-threatening injuries, the victim was in stable condition. 

Until now, information about the suspect is not available. However, CBS news reported that, Police has confirmed that the suspect is a juvenile.

After a thorough investigation by the Naperville Police Department, further details about the suspect will be shared.
