Narak Chaturdashi 2021 will be celebrated this year on 3rd November 2021.  It is also known as Roop Chaudas, Kali Chaudas, Bhoot Chaturdashi or Naraka Nivaran Chaturdashi. Here are all details about its vidhi, puja, muhurat, timing and significance.

According to Hindu mythology, Narakasura was a demon used to molest and misbehave with women. As per one story in Hindu mythology Krishna and Satyabhama killed Narakasura. However other North-East Indian mythology states that the goddess Kali killed Narakasura. This is why the day is celebrated as a win of good over evil.

Narak Chaturdashi 2021 Puja Vidhi

As per Hindu mythology, the God of death is Yamraj. The Yamraj is worshipped on the day of Narakchaturdashi. On this day Deep Daan is done. The worshipper will face the south direction and offer sesame seeds in water to God Yamraj. They will also take his 14 names on this day and pray to him to avoid going into the Narak after death.

Narak Chaturdashi 2021 Muhurat

Narak Chaturdashi is considered one of the biggest auspicious days of the Hindu calendar. So people perform various puja on this day. For Narak Chaturdashi 2021the Shubh Muhurat begins at 9:02 am on November 3 and ends at 6:03 am on November 4. The Muhurat for the ritual of bathing begins at 5:40 am and ends at 6:03 am on November 3.

Narak Chaturdashi 2021 significance

In the Hindu religion, Narak Chaturdashi is considered as one of the biggest festivals. As per the story of Lord Krishna’s wife, Satyabhama killed the Narakasur also some people celebrate it. It is most popular as Narak Chaturdashi in Maharashtra and Southern India. On this day, people wake up early in the morning before sunrise. Take a bath before sunrise performs puja at home and meet and greet each other.
