This report claimed that Dassau, the French company that made Rafale, had to pay one million euros ‘as a gift’ to a middleman in India. Quoting the report, Congress wrote on Twitter-

France’s Publication MediaPart has claimed that in 2016, when the Indo-French agreement on Rafale fighter aircraft was reached, Dassault gave this amount to a middleman in India. This was revealed when the French Anti-Corruption Agency audited the accounts of Dassault.

Surje Wala said during the press conference that this deal is between the government and the government, then where did the middleman come from. Along with this, Surjewala said that the government CAG, Prime Minister, Defense Minister, Parliament BJP does not tell what is the cost of the Rafale ship?

Congress spokesperson Surjewala further said – ‘Rafale company said that this money was given to make models of Rafale aircraft. AFA asked ‘The Salt’ what did you need to give the contract Hindustan company to make your own company’s model, why did you write it as a gift to client and where are those models?

The report stated that when clarification was sought from the DASO on this expenditure, in its clarification, the company provided the bill of 30 March 2017 to the AFA, which was given by DefSys Solutions of India. (This company is Daiso’s sub-contractor company in India). The bill was for half the order given to make 50 models of Rafale fighter aircraft. The price of each model was more than 20 thousand Euros.
