The grenade was found in a residential area, which has caused panic among the people of the Amritsar. As soon as the hand grenade was reported in the residential area of Amritsar, police teams and bomb disposal squads rushed to the spot and covered the grenade with sandbags. It was later diffused by a special bomb disposal squad that arrived on the scene.
Let us tell you a few days ago, Punjab Police and Border Security Force had recovered three kg of RDX, five hand grenades and more than 100 cartridges in a joint search operation. That was a joint search operation near village Dalke on the Indo-Pakistan border in Amritsar. Apart from this, Tiffin bombs and three detonators were also recovered by Security Forces.
According to the information given by local villagers, these weapons were dropped by Pakistani drones around Dalek. The villagers became alert after hearing the sound of drones around their village. And the village sarpanch immediately informed the Punjab Police and BSF officials over the phone. After this, the security forces conducted a joint search operation in the area and thwarted the plot of terrorist attacks in the country by recovering a consignment of weapons.
