1. Provide evidence that you are competent in English

English is the Australian national language, and everyone applying for a visa needs to be competent. The language is a unifying element in Australian society. To prove your competence in English, you need to provide the following evidence.

You are a citizen of the United Kingdom, United States of America, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, or Canada and have a valid passport. Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-Based Test (TEFL iBT)

You need to have at least 13 scores for reading, 12 scores for listening, 18 scores for speaking, and 21 for writing.

International English Language testing system (IELTS)

This test has four components, and you need to have at least six scores for each.

Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic)

The test has four components with a required score of at least 50 points.

Occupational English Test (OET)

To be deemed competent through the test, you need at least a B for each of the four components.

Cambridge C1 Advanced Test

The required score in this test is at least 169 in each of the four components given.

You should provide the test results by the time of application. The test should not have been undertaken more than three years before the date of application.

2. Health insurance document

You cannot access national public health cover or social welfare benefits as a temporary resident in Australia. You need adequate health insurance cover because all your health costs will be your responsibility. The health costs do not cover Medicare unless you come from a country where the Australian government has a reciprocal healthcare agreement.

3. Meet the character requirement

You must meet the character requirements to work in Australia. Every applicant must pass through a character test. In your application, you must provide all the required information about your character. You should answer all the questions truthfully and declare any criminal conduct you have ever been engaged in. 4. Meet health requirements

5. A tax file number (TFN)

A tax file number works as your identification number in the Australian tax system. TFN should be applied before you start working or immediately after your work starts. It is applied online once you receive a work visa and you are in Australia. It is free to get the TFN. Although the tax file number is not necessary, it may save you from paying more tax.

6. Read or have been explained life in Australia booklet and sign the Values statement of Australia

When applying for a temporary working visa, you must agree and adhere to the Australian value system. You must have read or have been explained about life in Australia. The Australian government provides the document. The booklet highlights the Australian society’s values. You are required to conduct yourself per the Australian value system and obey the laws. Your application may be refused or delayed when you don’t sign the Australian value system.
