Savannah Graziano’s video is currently going viral all over the social media, but for all the sad reasons. The newly released video features a teenage girl, Savannah Graziano, who was fatally shot by the US police, reported BBC.
She was shot when the police were trying to rescue the 15-year-old teenager from her father. Savannah’s father previously murdered her mother before kidnapping her.
This heart-wrenching incident occurred back in September 2022 in San Bernardino County on a busy highway in California, to the east of Los Angeles.
A pursuit was initiated by the officers when they spotted Savannah’s father, Anthony Graziano, driving with her in the passenger seat.
Savannah Graziano’s Shooting Incident
A California Highway Patrol helicopter released video footage which featured a “high-speed chase reaching speeds of up to 110 miles per hour.” During the chase, several shots were fired towards the officers from Graziano’s vehicle.
According to TimesNow, the chase finally came to an end when “Graziano drove the wrong way up a freeway entrance ramp and eventually stopped on scrubland.” Moreover, he was surrounded by police vehicles.
The released video showcased the 15-year-old exiting her father’s vehicle and running towards an officer who called her over. Officers were made aware of the little girl’s presence through radio communication.
A few minutes later, a gunshot was heard. The 15-year-old’s image became blurry while someone could be heard saying “Oh no.”
It was too late to stop the shooting and clarify that “Savannah was the passenger.” Savannah Graziano’s father was pronounced dead at the scene, and she died due to her injuries at a local hospital.
When police investigated the pickup truck, they discovered hundreds of rounds of ammunition, body armor and multiple weapons.
The identities of the officers involved in this incident are shrouded in mystery. As per The Guardian, the California’s Department of Justice has issued orders to carry out the investigation.
