Due to these problems like unemployment, hunger, and illiteracy increasing, in such a situation, population control becomes a necessary step. The population explosion in the country has affected our development the most. The bigger the population of the country, the bigger the problems. Therefore, it is very important for us to reduce the increased population. India is the second-largest populated country in the world after China. This time the 30th World Population Day will be celebrated.
According to ndtv.in, World Population Day was established in 1989 by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The inspiration for this day came from ‘Five Billion Day’, which was celebrated on July 11, 1987. On this day the population of the world reached five billion people. The United Nations expressed concern over the increasing population. Then it was decided to celebrate World Population Day in the United Nations to control the growing population and spread awareness among the people about family planning. On this day serious topics like family planning, poverty, gender equality, illiteracy, civil rights, mother and child health, use of contraceptive drugs are discussed and discussed all over the world.
It is estimated that the world population will be 8.5 billion by 2030, 9 billion by 2050, and 10.9 billion by 2100. This increase in population occurs because the number of individuals reaching reproductive age is more. The main objective behind celebrating World Population Day is to focus on the outcome of population issues and to make people aware of how it affects the overall development plans and programs.
