World Veterinary Day is celebrated every year on the fourth Saturday of April. In 2022, this day will be celebrated on April 24, 2021. The main purpose of celebrating this day is to discuss medicines related to diseases of animals and to make people aware of them. 75% of zoonotic diseases in humans originate from animals, so the role of the Veterinarian becomes important in such a situation. The environment is the complex of physical, chemical, and biological factors (such as climate, soil, and living things) that act on an organism or an ecological community and ultimately determine its form and existence.

The day was started in 2000 by the World Veterinary Association to celebrate the contribution of veterinarians to animals and their health. On the occasion of World Veterinary Day, the topic of resistance to drugs of bacteria found in animals is discussed in veterinary hospitals, and people are made aware of it.

Animals sometimes give early warning signs of potential human outbreaks. Proper tracking of diseases in animals helps to keep domestic and wild animals healthy, and thereby helps prevent disease outbreaks in people.
