2,59,551 corona cases in 24 hours in India, more than 4 thousand deaths

New Delhi, May 21 (IANS). The corona havoc in India is decreasing. According to the India Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 2,59,551 cases of the corona were reported across the country in 24 hours, the lowest daily reported cases in the past month. However, the death toll from Corona reached above 4000 once again on Friday.

In India, 4,209 people died once again due to covid on Friday. On Wednesday, there were record deaths due to Kovid with 4,529 deaths. These are by far the highest deaths due to covid infection in any country. Earlier on January 12, there were 4,468 deaths from Kovid in the US and 4,211 deaths on 6 April in Brazil. These three countries are most affected by the epidemic.

After touching a record high of 4,14,188 on 7 May, fresh Kovid cases fell below the three lakh mark for the first time on 17 May.

The total number of corona cases in India is now 2,60,31,991, with 30,27,925 active cases and 2,91,331 deaths so far.

The Ministry of Health said that a total of 19,18,79,503 people have been vaccinated in the country so far, of which 14,82,754 have been vaccinated in the last 24 hours.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 32,44,17,870 samples have been tested for corona till 20 May. Of these, 20,61,683 samples were tested on Thursday.
