It’s been more than 10 years since the feel-good movie “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” was released. The movie has been in the Top 10 India’s best cult films on friendship and life of all time, quite similar to films like “3 Idiots” and “Dil Chahta Hai”. It was directed by Zoya Akhtar. When shooting for the film, one scene required Arjun portrayed by Hrithik to stop the car in the middle just to attend his office meeting. By doing so, he got Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol about to lose their life. During an interview with Tiger Baby Films Production House, Abhay Deol stated- Hrithik stopped the car at the side of the road overlooking the hill. As Hrithik got out he forgot to pull the handbrake and the car started moving ahead toward the edge of the cliff. In Deol’s words, “Farhan was really fast. He jumped out immediately, and I sat there thinking I’m going to die now.”

Yup, many might have guessed it. The role of Arjun and Kabir was initially offered to Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor but later Hrithik and Abhay got interested and given it to them. 

In “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”, the character Imran played by Farhan Akhtar is scared of skydiving. But in reality, Farhan Akhtar is a certified skydiver. Out of all the actors in the movie, he was the only he actually skydived while shooting for the scene. 

Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan’s character used to fear water but in reality, he loved the underwater activity and has done it more than once. In the movie, Katrina Kaif played the role of Laila, a scuba diving instructor. While shooting the underwater scene, she started feeling scared and claustrophobic. It was Hrithik who consoled her and helped to overcome her fears. 

The movie also featured the infamous Tomatina festival. It was shot during the off-season. So, dozen of tomatoes had to bring in from Portugal to Spain required for the scene. The song shot during the festival went on to become hugely popular. Due to this, tourism in Spain saw a whopping hike in Indians after its release.
