New Delhi: International footwear company Bata Shoe Organization has promoted the company’s Indian business head Sandeep Kataria as global CEO of Bata Brands. This assignation has come into force with immediate effect. A statement issued by Bata said that Kataria became the first Indian to reach the post of Global CEO of this leading footwear company. He replaces Alexis Nasard, who held the post for the past five years. Kataria joined the company in 2017 as the CEO of Bata India. Prior to this, he worked in leading global companies like Unilever, Yum! Brands and Vodafone.

Bata India Limited Chairman Ashwini Windlass said of the assignation, “Over the years, the Indian team has delivered phenomenal growth in footwear volume, revenue, and profits.
It has also strengthened the services of Bata customers in the highly competitive footwear market. Both the Bata group and Bata India are going to benefit greatly from the extensive experience of Sandeep Kataria. ”

The company said that under the leadership of Kataria, Bata India sales registered double-digit growth and this led to double the company’s profits. The company sponsored several campaigns in the meantime, reinforcing Bata’s image.
Kataria said on this assignation that he was very happy that he became a part of Bata’s success in India.
