After this, the social workers complained to the Bengaluru Police and accused Ramesh Jarkiholi. On March 3, Ramesh Jarkiholi resigned from the ministerial position after catching up with the controversy.

After this sex CD surfaced, the police started investigating on the basis of the complaint. However, the police did not formally file a complaint against Ramesh Jarkiholi. Because many questions were being raised on the veracity of CDs.

On March 12, the BJP government formed a special investigation team to investigate the matter. On March 13, Ramesh Jarkiholi lodged a police complaint and said that money is being sought from him by blackmailing him through a CD.

On 16 March, the parents of the woman seen in the CD complained to the police and said that their daughter was kidnapped.
