Indian Navy Day is celebrated every year on 4 December. On this day the brave soldiers of the Navy are remembered. Navy Day is celebrated as a celebration of the victory of the Indian Navy in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The strength of the world’s fourth strongest Navy is increasing day by day. The Navy has a total of more than 280 ships. The Indian Navy was formed in 1612. After independence, it was reorganized in 1950 and its name was changed to Indian Navy. On December 3, the Pakistani army attacked our airspace and border area. This attack sparked the 1971 war. Operation Trident was launched to retaliate against Pakistan. The operation was launched targeting the Pakistani Naval Headquarters in Karachi. An attack group consisting of a missile boat and two warships attacked a group of ships off the coast of Karachi. For the first time in the war, the ship was attacked with anti-ship missiles. Many Pakistani ships were destroyed in this attack. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s oil tankers were also destroyed. And not a single Indian soldier was martyred in this.
