As per astrology experts, the Karthik Purnima will start at 04:12 pm on 07 November 2022 and will end at 04:35 pm on the next day i.e. 08 November 2022. In such a situation, Dev Diwali will be observed on 08 November 2022.

Talking about the story behind this festival, according to beliefs, on the full moon day of Karthik month, Lord Vishnu killed the demon Tripurasura, who had terrified the Three Lokas with his terror. So when Lord Shri Hari killed him, deities celebrated it by litting lamps on the banks of Kashi (Varanasi) and other rivers. That is why it is believed that every year on this day all the wishes are fulfilled by donating a lamp and bathing in the river.
