Kajol is an Indian Bollywood actor, who has acted in famous films like, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham”, “Dilwale”, and is married to famous actor Ajay Devgan.
Kajol Devgan’s Deep Fake Video Goes Viral Online
In the wake of Katrina Kaif and Rashmika Mandanna, Kajol has too fallen prey to a deepfake scandal. The emergence of deep fake videos, a technological innovation that makes it harder to tell fact from fiction, has drastically altered the world of the web in past few months.
Social media users are now talking about a deep fake video of actress Kajol that has gone viral. Online, a staged video of Kajol has emerged, leading to the recent wave of deep fake controversy. Influencer Rosie Breen is featured in the initial video, which she posted on TikTok as part of the “Get Ready With Me” trend.
The latest video emerged amid growing concerns over deepfake technology, after the worldwide popularity of a video starring Rashmika Mandanna, another well-known actress. In this deepface, Breen’s face is replaced with Kajol’s, and the ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ star is seen switching clothes in front of the camera.
After a video of the Indian actress started circulating on social media, the fact-checking website BOOM revealed that Kajol’s face was artificially placed in the original video, which belonged to a social media celebrity named Rosie Breen. Rosie’s face is temporarily visible in the edited video. According to the BOOM report, the actual video, which was a part of the “Get Ready With Me” (GRWM) craze, was uploaded on TikTok on June 5.

Deepfakes, a combination of “deep learning” and “fake”, are artificial media that have undergone digital manipulation to effectively swap out one person’s likeness for another. Deepfakes entail the use of sophisticated generative techniques to modify the look of faces. If used in a bad way, it can ruin anyone’s presence in the society.
