3rd Test: Bowlers showed a lot of character in the face of England batters’ onslaught, says Rohit Sharma

India Takes 434-run Victory Over England in Niranjan Shah Stadium Test

In the recent third Test at the Niranjan Shah Stadium, India secured a massive 434-run win over England. The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, acknowledged the bowlers for their outstanding performance in the face of the visitors’ strong batting, particularly in the absence of frontline bowler Ravichandran Ashwin.

Despite Ashwin’s withdrawal due to a family medical emergency after day two’s play, India’s bowlers stepped up to the plate. Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah all made significant contributions, leading to England’s collapse and giving India a 126-run lead.

Rohit Sharma expressed the importance of staying calm and sticking to the game plan, which ultimately led to India’s victory. Jadeja, making his return to the match after missing the Visakhapatnam Test due to injury, played a crucial role, scoring 112 in the first innings and securing a match haul of seven wickets.

Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal also made an impact by scoring an unbeaten 214 runs, showcasing his talent and potential in Test cricket. Meanwhile, England captain Ben Stokes remains optimistic about his team’s chances to bounce back in the series despite facing a significant defeat in his 100th Test match.

The victory puts India in a strong position with a 2-1 lead in the five-match series, while England looks to regroup and come back stronger in the remaining two matches.

The next two games will be critical for both teams as they aim to secure the series win. With India’s impressive performance in the third Test, the stage is set for an intense battle in the upcoming matches.
