Govt working to boost research & innovation among youth: PM Modi on National Science Day

New Delhi, Feb 28 (IANS) The government is focusing on promoting research and innovation to empower the youth, as mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on National Science Day. Celebrated on February 28 to honor physicist C. V. Raman and his groundbreaking discovery of the Raman Effect.

C V Raman’s discovery of the Raman Effect back in 1928 highlighted the scattering of photons when light interacts with particles smaller than its wavelength, leading to the dispersion of light in various directions. This significant finding earned him the Nobel Prize in 1930, marking a historic achievement for Indian science.

On this National Science Day, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar emphasized the importance of fostering scientific excellence among future generations. The theme for this year, “indigenous technologies for Viksit Bharat,” aims to promote collaboration and innovation within the scientific community to contribute to India’s progress and global advancements.

In a digital message, PM Modi expressed his vision for a developed India through research and innovation. “Our Government is continuously working to encourage research and innovation among the youth. This is important to realize our dream of a Viksit Bharat,” wrote PM Modi, underscoring the government’s commitment to nurturing scientific talent.
