C-Dot Signs Agreement with Qualcomm to Enhance India’s Telecom Industry

New Delhi, March 1 (IANS) Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has announced a partnership with Qualcomm Technologies Inc to promote innovation in India and support developers and start-ups in the country. Qualcomm will provide expertise, technology, and training to accelerate the development of indigenous telecom products.

The collaboration aims to provide access to chip technologies and domain experts for startups, OEMs, and academia to stimulate innovation and scale up R&D efforts. It also seeks to speed up the commercialization of Indian startups working on telecom products and solutions.

Neeraj Mittal, Chairman of the Digital Communications Commission, highlighted India’s role in driving innovation and welcomed the partnership with Qualcomm. He emphasized the importance of supporting homegrown startups to lead groundbreaking innovations in the telecom sector.

Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO of C-DOT, expressed optimism about the collaboration with Qualcomm, stating that it will unlock the potential of Indian R&D and foster a vibrant ecosystem of startups. Savi Soin, Senior Vice President of Qualcomm India, acknowledged India’s growing technology talent and government initiatives that support tech companies, paving the way for greater innovations in the market.
