Netherlands secure victory over Nepal in tri-nation series final by four wickets

The Netherlands emerged victorious in the tri-nation series final against Nepal, winning by four wickets at the TU International Cricket Ground. Michael Levitt’s blazing 54 runs guided the Dutch side to chase down Nepal’s target of 185, clinching the title in a thrilling finish.

In the match, Nepal posted a challenging total of 184/8 after opting to bat first. Despite contributions from Ashif Sheikh, Gulshan Jha, Kushal Malla, and captain Rohit Paudel, Nepal faltered in the death overs. The Netherlands’ bowling attack, spearheaded by Fred Klaassen and Sybrand Engelbrecht, restricted Nepal’s scoring opportunities.

Nepal, who showed promise in the series, fell short in the final as the Netherlands executed a clinical performance. With this win, the Netherlands topped the points table with five points, while Nepal settled for the runner-up position with four points and Namibia finished third with three points.

The Netherlands’ triumph was sealed by their resilient batting performance, with Levitt and Engelbrecht leading the charge. Despite Nepal’s efforts, the Dutch side’s bowling prowess and strategic breakthroughs ensured their victory in the final showdown.
