Edtech startup MyCaptain secures funding for strategic expansion

Edtech startup MyCaptain secures Rs 14 crore funding from multiple investors including Inflection Point Ventures. The funding will aid in expanding hybrid programmes into more cities and introducing new courses. The startup aims to reach 50,000 yearly enrollments by FY 2025-26 with a revenue target of Rs 100 crore.

MyCaptain plans to establish regional sales centers and enhance its course offerings to cater to a wider audience. Co-Founder & CEO Mohammed Zeeshan mentioned, “With this fresh round of funding, we continue our focus on building out a full stack career platform for your early career journey.”

The startup has already crossed 20,000 enrollments and is expected to generate revenue of Rs 31 crore in FY 2023-24. With a strategic focus on practical skill development, MyCaptain aims to differentiate itself in the competitive edtech market, projected to reach $10.4 billion by 2025.

Founded in 2016 by Zeeshan, Sameer Ramesh (CLO), and Ruhan Naqash (COO), MyCaptain aims to prepare students for the job market effectively. The trio holds bachelor’s degrees in technology, bringing a strong technical background to the edtech platform.

Investor Mitesh Shah from Inflection Point Ventures acknowledged MyCaptain’s unique focus on job readiness in the edtech space, positioning it as a leader in the industry. The startup’s growth trajectory shows promise for achieving its ambitious enrollment and revenue targets in the coming years.
