Experts believe DST’s schemes are empowering women scientists and researchers

New Delhi, March 8 (IANS) – The Department of Science and Technology (DST) celebrated International Women’s Day with a focus on investing in women to accelerate progress. Experts emphasized the importance of supporting women scientists and maintaining a work-life balance.

Gynaecologist Dr. Aparna Sharma and Cardiologist Dr. Shashi Mohan highlighted the significance of women’s health and well-being. They discussed the challenges of balancing professional and personal life, stressing the need for self-care and healthy lifestyles.

The event also featured a session on women in startups, where entrepreneurs shared their experiences and success stories. The potential of women-led startups in driving economic development and fostering innovation was highlighted.

A film titled “Nari Shakti at DST” was premiered at the event, showcasing the achievements of women in science and technology. Additionally, a dental health check-up camp was organized by Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences at the DST premises.

The DST schemes have been instrumental in empowering women scientists and promoting their role as principal investigators. The celebration of International Women’s Day served as a platform to recognize and support women in the field of science and technology.
