Samsung to boost growth through premiumisation in India this year as well: Raju Pullan

New Delhi, March 24 (IANS) Samsung is poised to drive further growth in India this year, focusing on premiumisation, according to Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President and Head of MX Business at Samsung India. He stated that the company is surpassing the industry’s 52% growth for 5G.

Pullan mentioned, “We see that this year again, with a focus on premiumisation, we will be able to drive the growth still further.” Samsung secured the top spot in India in 2023 with an 18% market share, as per Counterpoint Research. The company boasts one of the largest portfolios of 5G devices in the market.

“We will have almost 20 running models, and we will continue to drive the overall 5G segment by launching newer products with distinctively unique propositions for the consumers in India,” Pullan added, referring to the recent launch of Galaxy A35 and A55. In 2023, 5G smartphone shipments in India grew by 67% year-over-year, with Samsung leading the market with a share of 23%, as per CyberMedia Research.

Samsung’s strategic focus on premiumisation and a wide range of 5G devices is set to propel its growth in India this year. With an increasing demand for 5G smartphones, the company aims to cater to the market with unique offerings for Indian consumers.
