Anand Mahindra to Elon Musk: From the Shop Floor of an Auto Plant to Success in Career

New Delhi, March 29 (IANS) Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, responded to Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, highlighting the underappreciation of manufacturing in the public eye. Musk emphasized the challenges of high-volume production, to which Mahindra shared his own experience of starting his career on the shop floor of an auto plant.

Elon Musk pointed out the lack of movies showcasing the manufacturing process, stating that prototypes are easier to create compared to mass production. In agreement, Anand Mahindra acknowledged the relentless effort and problem-solving skills required in making products at high volume, emphasizing the need to highlight the heroes of manufacturing through films.

Mahindra expressed his admiration for the manufacturing industry, suggesting that films showcasing the production process would attract a significant audience. Recognizing the under-representation of manufacturing in pop culture, a follower suggested that there are numerous untold tales within the industry waiting to be shared.
