BMW Group and Tata Technologies collaborate on automotive software solutions in India

New Delhi, April 2 (IANS) – BMW Group and Tata Technologies have joined hands to establish an automotive software and IT development hub in Pune, Bengaluru, and Chennai. The new joint venture aims to deliver software solutions for BMW’s premium vehicles and digital transformation solutions for its business IT.

The JV will start with 100 employees and plans to expand to a four-digit number in the coming years. “India boasts a large number of talents with outstanding software skills,” said Christoph Grote, from BMW. This venture will allow Indian software engineers to work on cutting-edge automotive experiences in areas like automated driving and artificial intelligence.

Bengaluru and Pune will be the main hubs for development and operations, while Chennai will focus on business IT solutions. Tata Technologies’ expertise in digital engineering and talent pool will support BMW’s strategic expansion of software coding capabilities globally.

Warren Harris, CEO of Tata Technologies, highlighted that the collaboration with BMW Group emphasizes their commitment to delivering top-tier solutions in automotive software and digital engineering worldwide. This partnership signifies a significant step towards enhancing software competence in the automotive industry.
