Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 10,000 megawatts (MW) of operational portfolio, providing clean and affordable power to the national grid. This accomplishment will power over 5.8 million homes and avoid 21 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, contributing towards the goal of 45,000 GW of renewable energy by 2030.

AGEL’s operational portfolio includes 7,393 MW of solar, 1,401 MW of wind, and 2,140 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity. The company is making strides in the renewable energy sector and has ambitious plans to build the world’s largest renewable energy plant, a 30,000 MW project in Khavda.

Gautam Adani, Founder and Chairman of Adani Group, expressed pride in AGEL’s achievements, stating, “We are proud to be India’s first ‘das hazari’ in the renewables space. In less than a decade, Adani Green Energy has grown from a mere idea to explore clean energy to achieving a phenomenal 10,000 MW in installed capacity.” Adani emphasized the company’s commitment to redefining global benchmarks in renewable energy.

In addition to its operational milestones, AGEL is dedicated to sustainable practices, with certifications for being ‘single-use plastic free’, ‘zero waste-to-landfill’, and ‘water positive for plants with more than 200 MW capacity’. The company’s upcoming project in Khavda, Gujarat, spanning 538 sq km, aims to further revolutionize the renewable energy landscape.

Gautam Adani highlighted AGEL’s role in facilitating India’s transition to clean, reliable, and affordable energy, underscoring the company’s commitment to enhancing natural and social capital. AGEL’s accomplishments reflect the rapid growth and scale at which the Adani Group is driving the renewable energy revolution in the country.
